Four music acts. One Night. Open Frame 2024. Pay what you wish. An incredible line-up of four great acts – Carl Stone, Hand To Earth, Chihei Hatakeyama and Nyokabi Kariũki. One of the true godfathers of American electronic music, Carl Stone has literally sculpted the possibilities of rhythm, texture and harmony. Hand to Earth is a call to open ears: eluding genre, traversing continents and fusing ancient and contemporary. At its heart are Yolgnu manikay (song cycles), a 40,000+ year-old oral tradition from South East Arnhem Land, northern Australia. Chihei Hatakeyama is a renowned ambient composer from Tokyo. He is responsible for a catalog of shimmering, oceanic works that build upon minimalist structures. Kenyan sound artist Nyokabi Kariũki is part of an emergent generation of eclectic sound explorers, expanding pathways into zones of experimental and contemporary sonic traditions.
