Rewards for the Tribe is an ambitious collaborative dance work between Chunky Move and Restless Dance Theatre. The work weighs in on idealism as a principle of the humanist project, and its presence in some of the major art epiphanies of recent centuries. It asks, is there such a thing as utopia by design?
Rewards For The Tribe will present a world in which divine geometry is subverted by wonkiness, questioning civic planning’s promise of an idyllic life for all. Collaboration, resilience and acceptance bind the inhabitants of the work as they wrestle with an environment defined by ambiguity, to show that we can all find a way to thrive if we work together through adversity.
